Background in movement and instruction: “I have been teaching fitness since 2012. My first love of movement started with boxing: as a competitor and eventually a coach. In 2014, I became a certified personal trainer and opened a boxing studio in Vancouver BC. In the last few years, I have expanded my practice to include Pilates and now incorporate this lens in all of my training styles. My philosophy on movement is that it should be personal. Through my classes, I aim to create a space that allows the individual to connect to their body in a way that is meaningful to them!”
Biggest transformational moment of the last year: “Moving to the island! After living in Vancouver for 20 years, I came back to my hometown. It's been so cathartic and important to carve out a life that is best for me. The energy of the island aligns with my soul and is exactly where I need to be.”
Someone who inspires you: “It's actually not one person, but a virtue within people. Witnessing resilience in others and seeing people overcome adversity is humbling and inspiring. It's through other people's stories that I find strength for my own.”
Favourite song to move to: “I am a sucker for 90s Hip Hop, House Music, Classic Rock and Classical Piano. And yes, sometimes all on the same playlist.”
